UCI Retirees Association Board of Directors

The UCIRA Board of Directors is comprised entirely of volunteers that work to create programming & events and advocate for benefits on behalf of all retirees.

	Marianne Schnaubelt President, Retiree since 2006 Marianne Schnaubelt is a member of the first freshman class at UCI. She was employed at UCI for 36 years in Social Sciences, ICS, and the Registrar's Office. She has been president of the UCI Retirees Association and Chair of the Council of UC Retiree Associations. She has season tickets to the drama productions at UCI and is an avid gardener and yogi.
	Cindy Fern Secretary, Retiree since 2014 The former director of Student Affairs for the School of Physical Sciences, Cindy participated in the Physical Sciences Mentorship Program following retirement and continues to mentor UCI graduates. She is also a member of the UCI Stars quilting and crafting group.
	Bob Daly Treasurer, Retiree since 2014 At UCI Bob, held the title of Lecturer in the Department of Economics and retired as the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Strategic Academic Research and Analysis from UCR. For fun, Bob also provides computer support for many of his family members and friends, plays on two softball teams, plays tennis, goes skiing as often as possible, and travels with his wife multiple times per year.
	Jill Vidas CUCRA Representative, Retiree since 2011 Jill began her career at UCI working in the Program in Social Ecology, long before it became a school. She continued with the School of Social Ecology and where she worked with both graduate and undergraduate students. She currently is a member of Assistance League, enjoys reading and finding time for craft projects.
	Court Crowther Board Member, Retiree since 2022 Court retired after 21 years working in UCI's Graduate Division, since 2006 as Assistant Graduate Dean and Chief of Staff to the Dean. Prior to that he served as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in the Philippines, an experimental research psychologist, and a university educator. Having earned his BA, Masters and Ph.D. degrees at UC Irvine, Court is a proud, lifelong Anteater. He now enjoys the privilege of indulging frequently in bicycling, hiking, reading and traveling.
	Judi Franz CUCRA Travel, Board Member, Retiree since 2019 After 27 years in Humanities, Judi spent the last 4 years of her career in Classroom Technologies within OIT. She enjoys reading, baking, traveling, and volunteering as an admin in her local Buy Nothing Group.
	Jill Halvaks Immediate Past President, Board Member, Retiree since 2013 Jill is a 1980 Alum of UCI. After working for 33 years in the Dean of Students/Student Life & Leadership office, she began volunteering first with the Heritage Park Friends of the Library. In addition, Jill volunteers at UCI primarily with the UCI Retirees Association. When not volunteering, she enjoys reading, traveling, and being with her family.
	Desiree Mathos Board Member, Retiree since 2026 Desiree has worked at the UCI Medical Center in Orange for nearly 30 years as a registered nurse. She began her nursing career in the Neonatal ICU as a new graduate. She has an affinity to do multi-day adventure travel and enjoys experiencing new cultures (and their food!). She gravitates and seeks the great outdoors: cycling & hiking in beautiful California gives her great joy. Currently she has taken the challenge to learn French and loves the cultural arts, music & reading.
	Pat Price CUCRA Information Officer, Retiree since 2012 After retiring from her job as Director of Academic Personnel, Pat devoted herself to travel and quilt making with Beach Cities Quilters Guild and UCI Stars, a group that donates their quilts to UCI oncology patients. She also provides quilts to Children’s Hospital of Orange County.
